Two spectacular nights of film in

Tahoe City, California

March 11 & 12, 2005

‘A Benefit for the BEAR League and
the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School'

Mountainfilm has for its quarter century plus existence
been held each Memorial Day weekend in Telluride,
Colorado. It has earned a reputation as one of
North America's most prestigious cultural events.

What began as ‘just' an ‘adrenaline' film festival consisting of climbing, skiing, whitewater and related type films, evolved into a rich tapestry of film, showings, exhibits, personal appearances and lectures and programs encompassing the categories of adventure, environment, culture and activism.

Brilliant animations, compelling documentaries and spine-tingling adventure films are woven into a unique and richly textured event that has become synonymous with the world's finest filmmaking.

Included in 2004's program were appearances by U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein, former U.S. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, top ski racer Bode Miller and gonzo journalist and character Hunter S. Thompson---a typical Mountainfilm eclectic mix.

For  those unable to attend  the actual festival in Telluride
“Telluride on Tour” was created as an outreach means to bring many of the festival's best films and video selections to a wider audience throughout the U.S. Currently it reaches almost 100 venues. Last year marked its North Tahoe debut.

This year's presentation consisted of 2 nights, each with 2 completely different programs and was held at Granlibakken in Tahoe City, Friday and Saturday, March 11 & 12, at 7 p.m.

All profits go to the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School and the BEAR League.
